ARI/Ariete fork seals quality of execution is matched only by the unique nature of the material used--the carboxylated elastomer known as XNBR. This graphite-rich compound creates a self-lubricating material which is both heat and abrasion resistant. ARI oil seals have been designed with a variety of lip profiles to make them longer lasting, while reducing friction to a minimum.

Because a separating lubricant between the fork tube and the oil seal can reduce friction and increase wear life, ARI includes a packet of ARISIL with each seal kit. This is lube formulated as a rubber/metal lubricant for mechanical components used in the NASA space program.
